Service Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

General Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage with and market to prospective clients using various methods and media including, but not limited to calling, emailing, cross-selling, and generating opportunities from existing networks of business.
  • Work closely with other divisions within the firm to cross-sell and adequately service existing clients of the firm.
  • Prepare and coordinate presentations to clients and prospective clients for both renewal and new business opportunities.
  • Provide clients consulting expertise year-round on various topics including, but not limited to long-term strategic planning, compliance, wellness, cost containment strategies, structuring various lines of benefit coverage to meet client’s goals, and other aspects of program management.
  • Work proactively to coordinate with Account Executive and Account Manager(s) for service of client accounts.

New Business Responsibilities

  • Expected to meet the new business goals as set by management using a variety sources such as a dedicated calling effort, referrals, internet, niche marketing, etc.
  • Use sales process to uncover prospective client needs sufficient to identify, consult to solve, and present a plan with the intent of acquiring the group as a client.
  • Be available for communication with account managers, carrier underwriter and client.
  • Present proposals in a professional and timely manner.
  • Once new client is acquired, assist the service and account management team with implementation and onboarding of the new client to ensure seamless transition into the firm.
  • Be able to assist as needed in the open enrollment process, whether via in-person meetings, creating print or video content, or coordinating with carriers and vendors.

Renewal Responsibilities

  • As part of a continual service model, meet regularly throughout the year with clients to ascertain success and areas for improving performance in benefits program.
  • Analyze financial and clinical trends of various benefits programs to provide consulting advice to clients as part of the service model.
  • Work with Account Management and service team to prepare renewal presentations. Attend and present during renewal presentations as appropriate.
  • Cross-sell additional lines of coverage for benefits and other divisions of the firm, including commercial property and casualty and personal lines.
  • Work directly with account management and service team to properly execute renewal plan, including assisting with renewing or transitioning carriers and communicating with clients throughout the process.
  • Be able to assist as needed in the open enrollment process, whether via in-person meetings, creating print or video content, or coordinating with carriers and vendors.

ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES

Must follow all agency workflows, guidelines, and procedures including, but not limited to the contents of the Associate Handbook.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or LICENSING

Texas Group I license issued by the Texas Department of Insurance. Bachelors degree required or a combination of education and professional experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be deemed to effectively speak, read, write, and effectively comprehend English.

Bilingual skills are preferred (English/Spanish).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must possess basic math skills. Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.

INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS

Licensing as required by Texas Department of Insurance or other regulatory bodies as needed.
