Hotchkiss Helps, the charitable arm of Hotchkiss Insurance, was proud to present Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with a check for $42,697.58 — the largest one-time donation Hotchkiss Helps has made since its inception. Each year, Hotchkiss Helps selects a nonprofit to support collectively across the agency, through donations, time volunteering, and support raising awareness for worthy causes. All we do flows out of a passion for our mission — to provide protection in a world of unknowns.

And this year was certainly full of unknowns. Our Hotchkiss Helps committee, led by partner Ross Conner, was undeterred. For 2020, they selected Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to changing children’s lives through impactful research, raising awareness and supporting families to help cure pediatric cancer.

The team got creative to make a big impact. Events that in years past included dunking booths and crowded cornhole tournaments became virtual fundraiser concerts and zoom trivia nights. Employees dove into volunteer projects from afar and spread the word about our fundraising campaign, linking arms with carrier, broker and vendor partners, clients, family and friends.

Partner and committee chairman Ross Conner said, “I’m blown away by the generosity of our agency team members, both internal and external. I’m so thankful to get to work alongside such great folks who care and get passionate about healing and comforting families who’ve been afflicted by childhood cancer.”
